The Lady Wildcats will run a 6K race.
The Wiley College women's cross country team will return to action Saturday when it runs in the East Texas Baptist University Tiger Invitational at 8 a.m. at Marshall City Arena.
The invitational will be the Lady Wildcats' first competition since running at the University of Texas-Tyler Braveheart Invitational on September 8. Wiley College will run a 6K race on a mostly grass course. In the last two years, the Lady Wildcats have had three runners finish in the top 10 in the last two seasons. Maureen Rono ran 24:32.15 in 2016. Iryine Chelangat won the individual title in 2015 with Candice Higgins also finishing in the top 10.
Natasha Poleon (SR/St. Lucia) led the Lady Wildcats in their first two meets. She is hoping to improve upon her time of 21:36 – which she ran during the Braveheart Invitational on September 8.
Following Saturday's meet, the Lady Wildcats will run at the University of Dallas Invitational on October 14 in Irving, Texas. That race will be Wiley College's last competition before the Red River Athletic Conference Championship in November.
