HOUSTON – The Wiley College women's track and field team gained two NAIA Championship qualifiers and had several people finish near the top in their events at the Texas Southern Relays Saturday in Houston.

In Friday's preliminaries, senior Terrisa Mark (SR/Princess Town, Trinidad) ran 12.14 in the 100-meter dash to surpass the NAIA 'B' championship qualifying standard. Her time qualified for the finals but she didn't run Saturday. She also finished third in the 200-meter dash at 24.44.

Chriss Ann Thomas and Danielle David (SO/Point Fortin, Trinidad) finished third (56.22) and fourth (56.35) in the 400-meter dash, respectively. Thomas' time exceeded the NAIA 'A' qualifying standard. Shamona Hunt (SO/St. Catherine, Jamaica) and Deja Harrison (JR/Houston, Texas) finished third (2:18.78) and fourth (2:19.04) in the 800-meter run, respectively.
