Renae Dennie will compete in the 100-meter hurdles final at 3:20 p.m. Saturday
GULF SHORES, Alabama – The No. 6 Wiley College women's track and field team gains three more finalist as Renae Dennie (SO/Harbour View, Jamaica) advanced in the 100-meter hurdles, Natasha Poleon (JR/Vieux Fort, St. Lucia) reached the 400-meter dash finals and the Lady Wildcats qualified for the 4 x 400-meter relay finals.
Dennie ran 14.13 in the 100-meter hurdles – which was the top time in her heat. Poleon – who qualified for the 200-meter dash final on Thursday – ran 55.59 to win her qualifying heat in the 400-meter dash. Dennie will run in the 100-meter hurdles final at 3:20 p.m. Saturday. Poleon will run in the 400-meter dash final at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
The 4 x 400-meter relay team of Taishia Pryce (FR/Jamaica), Chriss-Ann Thomas (SO/St. Catherine, Jamaica), Danielle David (SO/Point Fortin, Trinidad) and Poleon ran 3:46.01 to win their heat. Poleon out ran Indiana Tech's anchor in the final 100-meters. The relay team will run in the final at 6:15 p.m. Saturday
Dennie was .03 seconds from qualifying for the 100-meter dash final with her time of 11.95. Danielle David ran 12.34 and Terrisa Mark (SR/Princess Town, Trinidad) ran 12.60 in her final individual race of her career. Chriss-Ann Thomas was within .29 seconds from qualifying in the 400-meter dash. David ran 58.16 and Deja Harrison (JR/Houston, Texas) ran 1:04.13. Ebony Carr (JR/Houston, Texas) competed in the triple jump. Her highest distance was 10.79 meters. She jumped 10.58 on her first attempt and 10.50 on her second.
