Farinha earns Track and Field NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athlete
Wiley University women's track and field athlete Jean-Marie Farinha earned recognition for her hard work in the classroom by being named an NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athlete, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced Monday.
Farinha was one of 1,203 student-athletes who maintained at least a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade point average and are competing in at least their second season with their institution. This is the second time Farinha has been honored with the award, as she competed on the women's soccer and cross country teams in the fall. She has maintained a 4.0 GPA in her first two seasons. This spring she helped the Lady Wildcats to a third-place finish at the 2024 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Track and Field Championship.
