Baseball wraps road swing at SAGU
The Wiley University baseball team wraps its road trip at 2:30 p.m. against Southwestern Assemblies of God University.

The Wildcats went 1-3 in games against No. 21 Texas Wesleyan University and No. 15 Ave Maria University on Friday and Saturday. They beat Texas Wesleyan 5-2 in the first game, for their first win over a ranked opponent since 2019.
Kai Woodard went 4-for-10 and scored a run in the four games last week. Ivan Del Villar went 2-for-4 with a run and two runs batted in during Friday's victory. He also got the final two outs to earn his first save. Isaac Burciaga pitched four innings, holding the Rams to a hit and struck out three - earning his first victory. Coren Lewis pitched five innings in relief in the second game against Ave Maria and struck out a career-high seven batters.
Southwestern Assemblies of God (9-4) is on a five-game winning streak after sweeping a three-game series against Central Baptist College. It has played nine of 13 games at home.
Andrew Ortiz leads the Lions with a .500 batting average, five home runs, 17 RBI and 10 runs. He earned Sooner Athletic Conference Player of the Week. Reagan Smith is 3-0 with a 4.02 earned-run average. He has 16 strikeouts in 15 2/3 innings and held opponents to a .200 batting average. Hayden Mullins and Cade Hendricks each have saves.
Tuesday will mark the 53rd meeting between the Wildcats and Lions. The series momentum has shifted in favor of SAGU, which has won the last eight games. Wiley's last win was in 2019 and it hasn't won on the road since 2014.
