Guillory wins his third GCAC Pitcher of the Week Award

After picking up his second career shutout and earning another win in relief, Wiley University pitcher Keyon Guillory won Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for April 8-14, marking the third time he has claimed the honor.

In the second game against Southern University at New Orleans, Guillory held the Knights to two hits and only allowed two walks in seven innings. He struck out eight batters in the 10-0 victory. During Sunday's finale, Guillory took the mound in the sixth inning and struck out nine batters to help secure a 7-6 win and the series for the Wildcats.

He is the first Wildcat since before the 2007 season to win two games in a conference series. Guillory is tied for second in the GCAC with six victories. He is second with 75 strikeouts. Guillory previously won the award for February 4-10 and March 4-10. This is the sixth weekly GCAC award won by the Wildcats. Ivan Del Villar won Player of the Week for March 4-10, Jhan Carlos Javier won for March 11-17 and Ryan Ready won for March 18-24.

The Wildcats (21-17, 15-3 GCAC) lead the conference by 0.5 games and will look to clinch the regular season title when it plays against Philander Smith University.
