Guillory wins Fourth HBCUAC Pitcher of the Week Honor
After throwing the most strikeouts by a Wildcat pitcher since 2007, Wiley University pitcher Keyon Guillory takes home his second consecutive and fourth overall Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week award. He was honored for his performance between April 21-27.
Guillory recorded the most strikeouts by a Wildcat since before the 2007 season with 15. He retired nine of the last 10 batters he faced, striking out the side in the sixth inning. He picked up his ninth win and his sixth complete game. Guillory tied his teammate Jalen Porter for the HBCUAC lead in strikeouts with 97. He leads in earned-run average at 2.52.
The award is the 11th for the Wildcats. Jalen Porter is a three-time HBCUAC Pitcher of the Week. Isaac Burciaga was also honored as Pitcher of the Week for February 3-9. Ivan Del Villar, Smauri Abram and Jacob Perez won HBCUAC Player of the Week.
The Wildcats earned the second seed in the 2025 Hope Credit Union HBCUAC Baseball Championship and will play No. 7 seed Rust College at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at CHI St. Vincent Field at Dickey Stephens Park.
