Men's Basketball stumbles against Fisk

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Wiley University men's basketball team's shots did not fall in a 59-47 loss at Fisk University Thursday at Henderson A. Johnson Arena.

The Wildcats' winning streak ended at two and fell to 3-4 on the road. They shot 27.3 percent and only hit two of 17 three-point attempts. Fisk University shot 35.7 percent but hit six of 19 three-point attempts.

Wiley trailed the entire game. It trailed by as many as 10 in the first half and went to the locker room with a seven-point deficit. In the second half, the Wildcats only hit three shots in the first six minutes. Fisk took advantage and extended the margin to 15.

Demarius Pitts hit three shots and Tre Booker hit two to help the Wildcats pull within seven with 9:45 left in the game. Pitts hit a 3-pointer with 1:43 left to cut the margin to five. Wiley missed its last two shots and turned it over. 

Pitts led the Wildcats with 21 points, marking his fourth game with 20 or more points. He was the only Wildcat in double figures. Delor Johnson and Booker followed with eight points. Christian Beeke grabbed a season-high nine rebounds. Bates tallied five assists.

The Wildcats will wrap up their road trip on Saturday at Oakwood University. The Ambassadors fell 71-65 to Philander Smith University.
