Fisher qualifies for NAIA Championship
SAN MARCOS, Texas - Wiley University men's track and field athlete Brian Fisher posted an NAIA National Championship qualifying time in the 110-meter hurdles Saturday at the Texas State University Bobcat Invitational at the Texas State Track and Field Complex.
Fisher ran 14.79, which surpassed the 'B' qualifying standard. He is the second individual to qualify, joining Ronald Garrett who also advanced in the 110-meter hurdles. The Wildcats have also qualified in the 4 x 100-meter and the 4 x 400-meter relays.
Isaac Jenkins just missed the 'B' qualifying standard in the long jump with his leap of 7.13 meters. He also posted a personal best of 1.86 meters in the high jump. Ronald Garrett was 0.03 seconds from his personal best in the 110-meter hurdles, finishing in 14.61. Dantravian Sloan ran a personal best of 1:00.40 in the 400-meter hurdles. Tyvonne Allen ran 49.03 in the 400-meter dash which was 0.65 seconds short of the 'B' qualifying standard.
The Wildcats will next compete at Northwestern State University's Leon Johnson Invitational on April 12 and 13.
