Softball unveils 2026 Schedule

For the first time in over 20 years, the ladies will return to the diamond. Wiley University softball will play 37 games with 17 at its new home Smith Park, as it announced its schedule on Friday.

The Lady Wildcats last competed in the early 2000s. Last year, they played as a club team to gain experience and build their roster. This will be their first season under the leadership of Associate Head Coach Jour'Dan Gardner. Smith Park is located at 700 Spring Street, which is down the street from the campus.

The first pitch is on January 31 as the Lady Wildcats host their East Texas rival Texas College, which is Coach Gardner's alma mater. It will scrimmage Arlington Baptist University's club team on February 2 in Arlington. On February 6, Wiley renews the Highway 80 rivalry against Jarvis Christian University in Hawkins. The Lady Bulldogs went 8-22 and finished ninth in the Red River Athletic Conference. It will host Baylor University's Club Team for a doubleheader scrimmage and then hit the road for a doubleheader at Nelson University. The Lions finished seventh in the Sooner Athletic Conference.

The Lady Wildcats will open their first season of Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) play at Talladega College on February 21 and 22. The Tornadoes finished third in the conference last season. Wiley will follow with two non-conference doubleheaders at Oklahoma Wesleyan University on February 25 and Central Baptist College, which it faced during its club season on March 3. The Mustangs will make a trip to Marshall on March 30.

Its first home HBCUAC series will be against the defending HBCUAC champion, Stillman College on March 7 and 8. Wiley will also host HBCUAC newcomer Huston-Tillotson University (April 11 and 12) and Oakwood University on April 18 and 19, with the series opener being played at Airport Park. The Lady Wildcats will visit Voorhees University (March 14 and 15), Dillard University (March 21 and 22) and Rust College (March 28 and 29).

The Lady Wildcats will host two National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Schools. They will host University of Dallas on March 18 and Grambling State University on April 7. The 2026 HBCUAC Softball Championship will be April 25-29 at River Run Park in Northport, Alabama.
All the home and conference games are slated to stream on the Urban Edge Network, which can be viewed online or downloaded to mobile devices via the free app.
