Women's Basketball hosts Huston-Tillotson University

The Wiley College women's basketball team returns to Alumni Gymnasium to face Huston-Tillotson University at 2 p.m. Tuesday.

The Lady Wildcats (5-2) split last week's games with an 84-75 victory at Centenary College of Louisiana on Thursday and a 66-64 loss at Arlington Baptist University on Saturday. Jay'lann Myles recorded a double-double in Thursday's victory with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Kaitlyn Davis and Alaeh Pressley also finished in double digits with 15 and 14 points, respectively. Diamond Hawthorne and Minnie Miller each grabbed 10 rebounds.

Entering Tuesday's game, Wiley College ranks second in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference, averaging 71.3 points per game. It's second in the conference with a 68.6 free throw percentage. The Lady Wildcats are third in opponents' 3-point percentage (24.5).

Davis ranks third in the conference with 15.8 points per game. She is fourth with 1.8 three-pointers made per game. Pressley is second in the conference with an 83.8 free throw percentage. She ranks in the top 10 of the GCAC in points per game, field goal percentage, and rebounds per game. Kayja Jackson ranks in the top 10 of the GCAC in points per game, offensive rebounds per game, defensive rebounds per game, total rebounds per game and free throw percentage.

The Lady Rams won their first game of the season 51-41 over North American University on November 15. They return 10 from last season. Bre'Auna Smith leads them in scoring with 15.5 points per game and in rebounds with 9.5. Ariana Smith is averaging four assists per game. Mycah McDonald is averaging 4.5 steals per game.

This will be the Lady Wildcats third game from their former conference the Red River Athletic Conference. They played Jarvis Christian College on October 29 and Texas College on November 8. The overall series is tied at 15. Wiley College beat the Lady Rams 76-72 in overtime at home last season. It had to forfeit the February 19 game due to not having enough players.
