TYLER, Texas – The Wiley University women's basketball team shot under 30 percent in a 63-40 loss against Texas College Friday at Gus F. Taylor Gymnasium.
The loss ended a four-game winning streak and is the first time the Lady Wildcats have fallen to the Lady Steers on the court since February 16, 2019. They shot 29.2 percent hitting 14 of 48 shot attempts. Wiley allowed Texas College to shoot 42.3 percent from the field. It outrebounded the Lady Steers 32-29. The turnover battle went to Texas College as the Lady Wildcats forced 13 but committed 20.
Tamia Dolls led the Lady Wildcats with 15 points. She added six rebounds and an assist. Kiersten Harris put up a team-high seven rebounds and three assists.
The Lady Wildcats (5-2) will return to the court on November 27 when it visits Louisiana Christian University.
