Jones wins HBCUAC Offensive Player and Newcomer of the Week

After an impressive debut with Wiley University women's basketball, Brandy Jones earns Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) Offensive Player and Newcomer of the Week for October 20-26.

 

Jones led all scorers with 25 points, shooting 6-for-10 from 3-point territory. Three of them came in the first quarter, which allowed the Lady Wildcats to build a double-digit lead in a 92-60 rout over Texas College during its 2025 Homecoming game on Saturday.

 

Last season, Jones played at Tyler Junior College. She averaged 4.6 points, two rebounds and 1.6 points per game. Jones graduated from North Crowley High School and was a First Team All-District selection in her senior season.

 

The Lady Wildcats play No. 22 Louisiana State University in Shreveport tonight.
