DeWitt Mandley took over as head coach on June 1, 2023.
AT WILEY UNIVERSITY
- 27-30 (.474) record in two seasons (Entering 2025-26)

SEASON CAPSULES
2024-25: The Lady Wildcats went 15-14 and 8-9 in HBCUAC play. Jessica Nerestant led the team with 11.1 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. She earned HBCUAC Defensive Player of the Week twice, HBCUAC All-Defensive Team and HBCUAC All-Tournament Team. Mary Leday averaged 9.6 points and 2.7 assists per game. She was twice named HBCUAC Newcomer of the Week. The Lady Wildcats advanced to the HBCUAC Championship game with victories over Wilberforce University, Tougaloo College and Dillard University - marking its furthest advance in a conference tournament since 2013.
2023-24: The Lady Wildcats went 12-16 and 6-12 in GCAC play. They started 9-4 and 4-1 in GCAC play. Jamiya Eaddy led the team with 12.8 points per game. The Lady Wildcats defeated Southern University at New Orleans in the Opening Round of the GCAC Tournament for its first postseason win since 2020.
BEFORE WILEY UNIVERSITY
Mandley was an assistant men’s basketball coach at Langston University the past two seasons. Mandley was the interim head coach for 19 games in the 2021-22 season. Last season, he helped the Lions rank in the top 5 of the NAIA with 31 wins and reach the Round of 16 in the 2023 NAIA Men’s National Championship Tournament.
Additionally, he was the associate head coach for the professional basketball team Enid Outlaws (2021, 2023) and an assistant coach for Redlands Community College (2018-2021).
Mandley graduated from North Carolina A&T State University with his Bachelors of Science in Recreation Administration. He walked-on to the men’s basketball team and worked as a student-trainer and manager. He was selected as the top defender to guard the top offensive player in practice.
From 2005-2015, Mandley served in the United States Marine Corps. He was the starting point guard for the Varsity Base Team. He led them to four West Coast Regional Titles (2005, 2006, 2009, 2010). Mandley was selected to for West Coast Marine Corps Regional Team (2005-2015) and invited to attend All-Marine Basketball camp (2005-2010). He is the only Marine in “student status” allowed to compete on Varsity, Regional and All-Marine level. Mandley maintained superior student status and earned High First Class Physical Fitness Test.
