Women's Soccer comes up short at Austin College

SHERMAN, Texas - September 12, 2024 - The Wiley University women's soccer team put four shots on goal but could not find the back of the net in a 2-0 loss to Austin College Thursday at Dr. Jack Pierce Memorial Soccer Complex.

Yajaira Hernandez put two shots on goal in the second half. Rebeca Garza and Samantha Rodriguez put one on goal in the first half. Nadia Hernandez and Alexse Orozco took shots late in the second half but were blocked. Destiny Allison stopped seven of nine shots she faced.

Austin College (5-0-1) took the lead in the seventh minute and added another in the 53rd minute. Wiley was outshot 19-7, and fourteen fouls were called, but no cards were issued.

The Lady Wildcats will continue their road trip on Wednesday at Louisiana Christian University.
