LONGVIEW, Texas - Wiley University women's soccer season-opening winning streak ends at four as it was unable to overcome National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III school LeTourneau University in a 3-0 loss Tuesday at the Joyce Athletic Village.
The Lady Wildcats (4-1-0) were held scoreless for the first time since October 26. They put up four shots with one on goal. Alexse Orozco had a shot in the 10th minute that went high and wide right. Alondra Limon got a shot down the middle in the 16th minute but LeTourneau's goalkeeper Kinsey Fulks stopped it. Deyanara Hernandez's shot went wide left in the 40th minute. Yajaira Hernandez had a shot that went high and wide right.
Wiley fell behind in the 34th minute, when they allowed a goal on a rebound. It allowed goals in the 68th and 71st minutes. The Lady Wildcats were outshot 14-4 and allowed five corner kicks, while they managed only one. Quijano made stops on two shots.
The Lady Wildcats will conclude their first road trip on Saturday at Texas A&M University-Texarkana.
