Moutouo, Johnson win at Emory Crossplex Showdown
ATLANTA, Ga. - Wiley University track and field athlete Meeyesha Tutt-Moutouo won the long jump with a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics national championship qualifying distance and the triple jump. Ariel Johnson won the 60-meter hurdles at Emory University's Crossplex Showdown Sunday.
Tutt-Moutouo jumped 5.64 meters in the long jump, which surpassed the 'A' qualifying standard. She was .01 meters away from qualifying in the triple jump with a leap of 11.24 meters. Johnson ran 9.11 in the 60-meter hurdles.
The Lady Wildcats scored 49 points - which was fifth out of 20 teams. Shannon Mills finished third in the 60-meter dash (7.94) and placed in the 200-meter dash. She ran on the 4 x 200-meter relay team which also placed. Kaiden Taylor and McKenzie Catalon placed in the 400-meter dash and also ran on the 4 x 200-meter relay team.
The Lady Wildcats will open the outdoor season on March 8 and 9 at the Southwestern Assemblies of God University Invitational.
