Tutt-Moutouo places in three events, nine make debut
LAKE CHARLES, La. - Returning Wiley University NAIA National Championship qualifying athlete Meeyesha Tutt-Moutouo places in three events, nine Lady Wildcats made their debut at the 2024 Cowboy Relays "Bob Hayes Challenge" Saturday at McNeese State University's Bill and Lena Track and Field Complex.
Tutt-Moutouo finished in the top eight in the long jump (5.44 meters). She ran on the 4 x 100-meter and 4 x 200-meter relay teams. She was joined by freshmen Asia Smith, Shannon Mills and Kaiden Taylor in the 4 x 100-meter relay. Tutt-Moutouo ran with Smith, Mills and MacKenzie Catalon in the 4 x 200-meter relay.
Saturday was the first collegiate meet for Smith, Mills, Taylor, Catalon, Kyla Deyon, Allison Terry, Jayla Johnson, Ariel Johnson and LaDaija Thomas. Thomas finished in the top eight in the 400-meter hurdles. Deyon finished in the top eight in the triple jump. The Lady Wildcats finished with 18 points. Nine schools competed, mostly NCAA Division I programs.
Wiley will look to build on their performance next week when it travels to Louisiana Tech University's Jim Mize Invitational.
