Tutt-Moutouo, Deyon win first GCAC Weekly Awards

Meeyesha Tutt-Moutouo and Kyla Deyon claim the first weekly Gulf Coast Athletic Conference of the 2024 season with Tutt-Moutouo claiming Track Athlete of the Week and Deyon taking home Field Athlete of the Week.

Tutt-Moutouo helped the 4 x 100-meter and the 4 x 200-meter relay teams place at the McNeese State University Cowboy Relays. The 4 x 100-meter relay placed sixth with a time of 54.69. The 4 x 200-meter relay took fifth as it finished in 1:45.53. Tutt-Moutouo also placed in the long jump, which she qualified for the 2024 NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championship. Last season, Tutt-Moutouo was a NAIA national championship qualifier in the triple jump.

Deyon made her collegiate outdoor track and field debut on Saturday at McNeese State University Cowboy Relays. She finished fifth in the triple jump with a distance of 10.60 meters. Deyon competed against mostly NCAA Division I athletes. She also competed in the long jump.

The Lady Wildcats will compete in Louisiana Tech University's Jim Mize Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
