Johnson qualified for 60-meter hurdle finals

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Wiley University women's track and field athlete Ariel Johnson finished among the top athletes in the 60-meter hurdles, advancing to the Finals at Samford University's Bulldog Open at the Birmingham Crossplex.

Johnson ran 9.50 in the preliminaries, sixth out of a field of 14 athletes, including ones from National Collegiate Athletic Association schools. She ran 9.57 in the final.

Kaiden Taylor led the Lady Wildcats in the 200-meter dash (27.98) and the 400-meter dash (1:03.16). Kyla Deyon ran 8.53 in the 60-meter dash. Meeyesha Tutt-Moutouo competed in the long jump (4.77 meters) and triple jump (10.48 meters). Elisa Clay (8.23 meters) and LaDaija Fitzgerald (6.54 meters) threw in the weight throw.

The meet wrapped up the indoor season for the Lady Wildcats. They will open the outdoor season in March.
