Women's Track and Field returns to action at McNeese Indoor II
LAKE CHARLES, La. - Wiley University women's indoor track and field returned to action at the McNeese State University Indoor II Invitational at the Ralph O Ward Recreation Complex on Friday.
The Lady Wildcats competed for the first time since January 16 after they were unable to go to the FasTrak Athletix Collegiate Challenge due to winter weather. I'Najia Jefferson delivered a runner-up finish in the 55-meter hurdles (9.77 meters). Meeyesha Tutt-Moutouo finished runner-up in the triple jump with a leap of 10.82 meters. She also finished fifth in the long jump (5.15 meters). Kaiden Taylor placed fourth in the 400-meter dash (1:06.45) and led the team in the 600-meter run (1:59.38). Kyla Deyon placed fourth in the triple jump at 10.29 meters.
Wiley will return to the track on February 7 at the FasTrak Athletix Collegiate Classic held at University of Houston's Yeoman Fieldhouse.
Wiley University sponsors 13 varsity sports: women's volleyball, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's indoor track and field, men's and women's outdoor track and field, softball and baseball. It competes in the Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC).
