Charles highlights Strong Performances at Texas A&M-Texarkana Opener

TEXARKANA, Texas - Wiley University women's track and field athlete Kaitlyn Charles won the 100-meter dash and several others placed in the top three at the Texas A&M-Texarkana Opener on Friday at Pleasant Grove High School.
 
The Lady Wildcats competed against the host Eagles, Arkansas Baptist College and Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) school Philander Smith University.
 
Charles finished the 100-meter dash in 12.65. She also placed third in the 200-meter dash (26.46). Aaliyah Evans finished runner-up in the 800-meter run (2:45.36). Samarea Womack followed at 3:01.43. Logan Montgomery finished third in the 100-meter hurdles (17.69).
 
Meeyesha Tutt-Moutouo placed second in the long jump (5.37 meters). Tikeria Miller finished runner-up in the discus. Chrisonie Darden Sanders took second in the shot put (9.72 meters).
 
The Lady Wildcats finished second in the 4 x 100-meter relay (51.27) and the 4 x 400-meter relay (4:16.11).
 
Wiley will head to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette's Louisiana Classics on March 20 and 21.
