Four Women's Track and Field Athletes earn NAIA Daktronics-Scholar Athlete
Four Wiley University women's track and field athletes were honored for their academic performance as they were named National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Daktronics Scholar-Athletes.
The women were among over 1,000 student-athletes who held a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and are in at least their second season competing for their respective institution. Jean-Marie Farinha earns the honor for the third time in women's track and field and seven overall. She also competed in Cross Country and women's soccer. Along with athletics, Farinha served as the Wiley University Student Government Association President and is a member of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority. Farinha was the 2025 Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference Elite 9 Academic Award winner. She was also selected to the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
Meeyesha Tutt-Moutouo and Sukanya Pegese earned NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athlete in the fall as members of the cross country team. This is the first time Remi Pierre has earned the accolade, as she completed her sophomore season.
Wiley University sponsors 13 varsity sports: women's volleyball, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's indoor track and field, men's and women's outdoor track and field, baseball and softball. It competes in the Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC).
