Wiley University Women's Cross Country Kicks Off Season at TCU Meet
The Wiley University women's cross country team opened their season at the John MacKenzie Invitational, hosted by Texas Christian University at AP Ranch in Ft. Worth, Texas.
The Lady Wildcats raced against athletes from the host TCU, Texas A&M University, Tarleton State University and Amarillo College.
Leading the charge was Kaiden Taylor, who ran the top time for the team. She finished the five-kilometer course in 26:42.95. Teammates Remi Pierre and freshman Inajia Jefferson followed closely behind, recording times of 29:32.88 and 29:48.97, respectively.
"We're right where we want to be," head coach Christopher McConnell said. "Our times were faster than last year. This was a solid opening meet for us."
The team will look to build on this performance as they prepare for their next event, the University of Texas at Tyler's Season Opener, scheduled for September 6.
