Men's Soccer overpowers Oakwood, Huston-Tillotson

Wiley University men's soccer finished its home schedule with a 4-0 victory over Oakwood University on Saturday at Tatum Eagle Stadium and a 2-0 win over Huston-Tillotson University in a Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference match on Monday at Pemberton Field.
 
The Wildcats (6-3-1, 2-0-0 HBCUAC) extend their winning streak to four matches and record their fourth straight shutout. It's the first time they've held opponents scoreless in four consecutive matches. Monday's victory over the Rams gives Wiley sole possession of first in the HBCUAC West Division.
 
SATURDAY
Wiley did not allow the Ambassadors to get a shot, outshooting them 34-0. Aaron Castillo gave the Wildcats the lead, scoring on a penalty kick in the 19th minute. Jayce Graves extended the advantage, scoring off a pass from Anthony Ulloa in the 33rd minute.
 
Alvaro Guerrero and Juan Cayasso scored their first career goals in the second half to seal the match. Graves led the team with eight shots and put four on goal. Castillo followed with five shots and three on frame.
 
Daniel Rojas picked up his second win, playing the first half. Melvin Bonilla made his second appearance in the second half.
 
MONDAY
Ulloa put the Wildcats on the board in the fifth minute with his fifth goal. Alejandro Barcena netted his third goal of the season in the opening minute of the second half. Wiley was outshot 14-9 but more successful in getting shots on goal with five to the Rams' three. Ulloa led the team with three shots.
 
Rojas picked up his third win and second shutout. He stopped three shots that helped Wiley stay in front as he recorded his third consecutive scoreless outing.
 
The Wildcats will begin the second half of HBCUAC play on October 23 at Paul Quinn College.
