Garrett runs for NAIA 60-meter hurdles National Title
Wiley University men's track and field athlete Ronald Garrett Jr. will look to make history as he competes for the individual national title in the 60-meter hurdles at the 2026 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Men's Indoor Track and Field National Championship at the Alachua County Sports and Events Center at Celebration Pointe in Gainesville, Fla.
Garrett will run in the preliminary at 11:50 a.m. on Friday. He will advance to Saturday's final at 11:55 a.m. on Saturday, if he finishes in the top two of his heat or has one of the next best two times. The top eight will earn NAIA All-American.
This is Garrett's second time qualifying for the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championship. He advanced in 2024 but did not race due to Wiley not declaring for the sport. Garrett's season-best time of 8.12 ranks 20th in the NAIA and fourth in his heat.
He is the first Wildcat to qualify for the NAIA Indoor Track and Field national championship. The junior from Jefferson, Texas, has qualified for the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championship twice, finishing 10th in the 110-meter hurdles last season.
The 2026 NAIA Men's Indoor Track and Field National Championship is streaming on the Urban Edge Network. Live results are also available.
