Garrett finishes 12th at NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championship
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Wiley University men's track and field junior Ronald Garrett Jr. finished his season by becoming the first Wildcat to compete for an individual indoor track & field national title. He finished 12th in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.16 on Friday at the 2026 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Men's Indoor Track and Field National Championship inside the Alachua County Sports and Events Center at Celebration Pointe.
Garrett ran in the second heat and finished fifth. His time was 0.11 seconds from qualifying for the final. His national qualifying time of 8.12 in the final regular season meet set a program record.
The two-time NAIA Indoor Track and Field national championship qualifier and his teammates will turn their focus to the 2026 Outdoor Track and Field season. The Wildcats open on March 13 at Texas A&M University-Texarkana season-opening meet at Pleasant Grove High School. Garrett, who qualified for the NAIA National Championship in the 110-meter hurdles last season, seeks a return trip.
