Women's Basketball inks Howard

Wiley College head women's basketball coach Tiffany Jackson is pleased to announce the signing of transfer forward Jada Howard from Hill Junior College.

Howard played eight games last season and put up 12 points, five rebounds and an assist. She is a 2021 graduate of George Ranch High School in Richmond, Texas. Howard helped it reach the Class 6A playoffs in three seasons – advancing to the area round in her junior season in 2019-20.

"Jada is a hard worker," Jackson said. "I know what I'm going to get from her, day in and day out. I know she is going to give her best effort every time she touches the court."

The family atmosphere drew Howard to Wiley College. She joins a Lady Wildcat team that brings back nine players from last season, including forwards Diamond Hawthorne, Alaeh Pressley, Kayja Jackson and combo guards Minnie Miller and Jay'lann Myles. Howard hopes to assist the Lady Wildcats in improving from a five-win 2021-22 season. Wiley College enters its first season in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference.
