Women's Soccer fill up 2025 All-HBCUAC Team

After finishing near the top of the HBCUAC, Wiley University women's soccer placed six athletes and one coach on the All-HBCUAC Team.
 
The Lady Wildcats went 9-6-0 overall and 2-2-0 in conference play, finishing second in the West Division and third out of all teams in the HBCUAC.
 
Irma Garcia was awarded the Elite 9 Academic Award for holding the highest grade point average in the HBCUAC. She is a business major with a 3.81 GPA.
 
Yajaira Hernandez and Cynthia Lopez earned All-HBCUAC defender. They helped the Lady Wildcats limit opponents to two goals per game. Hernandez contributed offensively with three goals and two assists. Lopez's strong kickoffs helped set up the offense. She provided two goals and two assists. Lopez was one of the Newcomer of the Week winners.
 
Feryi Sanchez and Nadia Hernandez garnered All-HBCUAC midfielders. Hernandez led the team with 10 goals and 13 assists. She was an Offensive Player of the Week winner. Sanchez contributed 17 goals and was named Freshman of the Week three times. Twelve of her goals came during the HBCUAC Championship.
 
Deyanara Hernandez was one of three All-HBCUAC forwards. She provided 12 goals and 11 assists. She was one of the HBCUAC Offensive Player of the Week winners.
 
Laura Lopez was named HBCUAC Women's Assistant Coach of the Year. Head coach Andrew Benitez said she is a great motivator and encourager.
 
"She does a great job of coaching our players," Benitez said. "She gets them to play at their best."
 
Wiley advanced to the HBCUAC semifinals, marking the third time in program history that they've advanced.
